CADA elections are held every year as rotating service is important to the health and well-being of our fellowship.
Here are descriptions of the some rotating service opportunities :
CHAIR
One 2-year term, expiring June 30, 2008
Duties: Organizes and prepares the agenda for the monthly CADA meeting. Coordinates and Chairs meeting; maintains CADA general volume of agendas, minutes and flyers. Votes in event of tie. Time commitment : 3 hours per month.
VICE-CHAIR
One 1-year term, expiring June 30, 2009*
Duties: Serves as back-up should Chair be unable to fulfill duties listed above. Coordinates and reserves meeting space for monthly CADA meetings. Time commitment : 30 minutes maximum to 3 hours per month (if Chair is unavailable).
SECRETARY
One 2-year term, expiring June 30, 2008
Duties: Prepares detailed minutes of monthly meetings, including recording meeting attendance, motions and voting results; sends draft minutes to CADA members for review prior to monthly meeting; supports Chair in Parliamentary rules. Time commitment : 90 minutes per month for meeting, plus 1-3 hours per month for transcription of minutes, depending on clerical skills.
TREASURER
One 1-year term, expiring June 30, 2009*
Duties: Responsible for receipt of all money and for all payments by CADA; keeps full and accurate accounts of receipts and disbursements and provides full account of CADA financial transactions and financial condition at monthly meetings. Time commitment : 3-5 hours per month.
INTERGROUP SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE
Duties: The ISR is CADA's representative at the national level of DA. The DA member who holds the position of ISR must be abstinent. The ISR would be a member of one national committee and acts as the GSR to bring national news back to CADA.
*Effective with 2005 elections, Chair/Secretary positions alternate election years with Vice-Chair/Treasurer positions; at 2005 elections, Vice-Chair and Treasurer will be elected to one full 2-year term.
Terms of service for Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary and Treasurer are 2 years each. The actual dates of service are staggered so that there is continuity of service in two of those four service positions. All other service positions are for one year except the ISR which is a 3-year commitment.
